Day 1: Arrival At Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) - Arusha

As you arrive today, one of our safari representatives will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport. After you’ve finished all the immigration and custom formalities, walk through the arrival’s lounge to be met by our representative who will be holding a placard that displays our company logo, ready to usher you into the embrace of your hotel in Arusha. Having arrived at the hotel, he will assist you with check-in formalities so you can relax and unwind.

Arusha – Tanzania’s safari capital and a gateway to the famed northern safari circuit, extends a warm embrace. situated at a comfortable altitude of 1,350m in the southern foothills of Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest dormant volcano, this bustling city provides an ideal starting point for your adventure. As the third-largest city in Tanzania, Arusha invites you to enjoy a tranquil experience at your hotel, set against the picturesque backdrop of Mount Meru.

Following breakfast, leave for Tarangire National Park for a full day game-viewing drive. Dotted with gigantic ancient baobab trees, this mesmerizing wildlife reserve is part of an extensive ecosystem where animals roam freely, and stretches southeast of the beautiful Lake Manyara National Park around the Tarangire River, providing an excellent opportunity for an authentic and stylish game-viewing experience.termed the elephant playground, due to its highest number of elephants that has been recorded here and can be easily observed until October when the short-wet season prompts migration.

Among other renowned mammalian fauna that you may spot are the hartebeests, wildebeests, zebras, elands, lesser kudus, gazelles, waterbucks, giraffes, impalas, leopards and rhinos throughout the year. In the afternoon, enjoy a well–prepared packed lunch at a designated picnic location before resuming your game-viewing activity. As the early evening sets in, proceed to your well-appointed lodge in Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast at your lodge, venture out to Lake Manyara with a packed lunch. The park’s highlights include the habituated baboon troops, blue monkeys in the groundwater forest, and diverse mammalian fauna such as elephants, buffaloes, Maasai giraffes, hippos, and antelopes. Named after its dominant feature, an alkaline lake at the base of wooded cliffs,

Lake Manyara offers more than you can anticipate. Besides a supporting cast of popular wildlife, the park is home to a growing elephant population while the park’s lions have developed the intriguing habit of climbing trees over the years (though sightings can be rare). Noteworthy is the skittish leopard, its rich avian population, and the alkaline lake, which, during certain seasons, becomes a haven for tens of thousands of flamingos.

Depending on the time of year, nearly two-thirds of the park’s total area is submerged by the lake. Despite its small size, Lake Manyara boasts diverse vegetation zones, ranging from savanna to marshes and acacia woodlands. This diversity supports a wide range of habitats, providing a unique glimpse into wildlife in its natural habitat.

Following breakfast, head to Ngorongoro Crater, a piece of heaven like no other, armed with a packed lunch to fuel your adventure. Upon reaching Ngorongoro, descend nearly 2,000 feet to the crater floor, spanning an expansive 102 square miles. The Ngorongoro Crater boasts impressive dimensions, measuring about 20 kilometers wide and ranking among the largest calderas globally.

Within its steep, unbroken walls unfold a captivating drama, where lions, elephants adorned with exceptionally large tusks due to the fertile volcanic soil, buffaloes, and various plains herbivores such as wildebeests, Thomson’s gazelles, zebras, and reedbucks roam the grasslands, swamps, and forests on the crater floor. Encounters with black rhinos are also common, adding to the allure of this natural wonder.

The crater’s birdlife is equally remarkable, particularly around Lake Magadi, a soda lake at the crater’s base that entices hundreds of flamingos to its shallows. As the day draws to a close, ascend the crater walls and journey to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Here, the predators reign supreme, engaging in their regal pursuits amidst the abundant prey. Nearly eight thousand spotted hyenas, organized into formidable clans, alongside three thousand majestic lions, distinguished by their characteristic black manes can be spotted here.

In addition to these apex predators, cheetahs, leopards, and bat-eared foxes also grace the landscape, contributing to the rich tapestry of Serengeti’s ecosystem. Scavengers, including golden and side-striped jackals, as well as various vulture species, play their vital roles in this intricate web of life.With over 520 bird species, Serengeti is a haven for avian enthusiasts, offering sightings of numerous raptors and migratory birds.
